Ulrichshusen (dpa / mv) - The state chairman of the FDP Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, René Domke, is to lead his party back into parliament in the state election on September 26th.

A state representative assembly elected him to number one on the candidate country list on Saturday, as the party announced.

David Wulff was elected to number 2 on the list, Sandy van Baal to position 3.

The state list of the FDP for the federal election also on September 26th is headed by the Bundestag member Hagen Reinhold.

Christian Bartelt was elected to place 2 on the list, Sebastian Adler to place 3 on the list.

The FDP last sat in the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania from 2006 to 2011.

In the elections of 2011 and 2016, the party failed because of the five percent hurdle.

According to their own statements, the Liberals have around 700 members in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The FDP MV met under strict hygiene precautions for its two-day party conference in Ulrichshusen Castle (Mecklenburg Lake District).

The state board is to be re-elected on Sunday.

René Domke, who has led the party for around ten years, is running again for the chairmanship.
