Los Angeles (AP) - Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney publishes a vegetarian cookbook with the recipes of his wife Linda, who died in 1998.

"Many years ago, before anyone thought about the environment, health and animal welfare, Linda paved the way with vegetarianism and promoted it," wrote the musician on Instagram on Friday.

In addition to “delicious and healthy recipes”, the book will contain family pictures and stories from this time.

McCartney (78) posted a photo with his two daughters Mary (51) and Stella (49), who worked on "Linda McCartney's Family Kitchen".

The book is slated for the end of June.

The American photographer Linda Eastman and the musician were married in London in 1969.

She campaigned publicly for animal welfare and became a committed vegetarian at an early age.

Her first successful cookbook on “Vegetable Burger” was published in 1991. After almost 30 years of marriage, she died of cancer in 1998 at the age of 56.
