Egyptian Minister of Transport: The driver of the Sohag train coming from behind did not stop despite his warning

The Egyptian Minister of Transport, Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, said that the collision of the Sohag trains is a painful and catastrophic accident by all standards, offering his apology to the families of the injured and the victims.

The minister added, during a telephone interview with the "On My Responsibility" program on the Sada Al-Balad channel, that the Public Prosecution Office will reveal the reason for the collision of the Sohag trains.

The Minister of Transport indicated that the train driver was not the one who caused the accident, explaining that the train coming from the back was warned by all means of mechanical and electronic warning and via the converted phone and wireless in order to stop, but he did not answer and did not stop, and the collision occurred with the stalled train.
