Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Activists of the climate protection movement Extinction Rebellion have protested against climate policy with road blockades in Hamburg.

At several locations in Hamburg, individual activists took to the streets and blocked traffic, as the Hamburg police confirmed.

On Saturday afternoon, the situation center was aware of blockades in Schanzenstrasse, Osterstrasse, Herbert-Weichmann-Strasse, Bahrenfelder Strasse and Waitzstrasse.

According to Extinction Rebellion, the aim of the campaign was to express fear of the consequences of the climate crisis.

Hamburg's climate policy is failing, the movement said in a statement.

According to the movement, the protest under the name "Rebellion of One" took place in several German cities, including Göttingen and Berlin.
