March 27, 2021 George RR Martin continues to stay in business with the US cable and satellite pay TV broadcaster HBO, through a major five-year agreement, to develop projects also for the Hbo Max channel, as reported by Variety.

Martin is known for having created the saga that served as the basis for the "Game of Thrones" series, one of the most popular and influential of all time, for ratings, for critical reception.

The first newspaper to report the news was The Hollywood Reporter.



HBO is currently preparing the "House of the Dragon" series, which is set before the events of "Game of Thrones" and tells the story of House Targaryen and the Targaryen Civil War.

The show is expected to start in 2022. Martin is the co-creator and executive producer of the series.

There is talk of new adventures set in the universe of "Game of Thrones" taken for example from "Tales of Dunk and Egg."
