Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The health authorities in Rhineland-Palatinate have registered 562 new infections with the corona virus within 24 hours.

In addition, three other people died with or from the virus, as the state investigation office announced on Saturday.

The incidence rose to 99.3 nationwide.

The incidence, i.e. the number of new infections reported in the past 7 days per 100,000 inhabitants, was highest in the Neuwied district.

There the value was 207.9.

In the Altenkirchen district, too, the incidence was 206.5 above the 200 mark. The lowest incidence, at 29.3, was accordingly in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district.

A total of 114 039 infections with the corona virus have been detected in Rhineland-Palatinate since the beginning of the pandemic.

The health authorities counted a total of 3,305 deaths.
