Rostock (dpa / mv) - 272 new corona infections were reported in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on Saturday.

That was 40 more than on Saturday a week ago, as the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) announced (as of 3:52 p.m.).

Three more people died in connection with the coronavirus, bringing the number of deaths in the country to a total of 846.

The incidence rose by 2.8 compared to the previous day to 103.2 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week.

A week ago, this value was reportedly 69.6 nationwide.

At 172.8, the seven-day incidence is currently highest in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district, followed by the Vorpommern-Greifswald district with 128.2.

According to Lagus, the value is lowest in the Hanseatic city of Rostock - there it is 50.7.

In the meantime, none of the two independent cities or none of the six rural districts is below the important threshold of 50.

The total number of corona infections detected so far in the northeast is 29,783. 25,817 people are considered to have recovered.

The number of corona patients treated in clinics is currently 245 - eleven more than on Friday.

61 corona patients were in intensive care units, one more than the day before.
