The criminals, who did not use their weapons, fled with gold and precious metals in quantity.

This Friday morning, two conveyors who were traveling in an unmarked van were attacked by robbers on rue Thomassin, in downtown Lyon, we learned from the prosecution, confirming information from

Le Progrès.

The thieves, hooded, targeted the conveyors, around 9 am, while the latter were unloading gold and jewelry to deliver them to a specialized company located on the peninsula.

Under the threat of weapons of war, they had to hand over the goods to the criminals who fled aboard a black Clio, with loot estimated at 275,000 euros according to our information.

The perpetrators' car was reportedly found burnt in Bron, in the Lyon suburbs.

An investigation, entrusted to the judicial police, was opened on the counts of armed robbery in an organized gang and criminal association, specifies the Lyon prosecutor's office at

20 Minutes.
