Kiel (dpa / lno) - The Schleswig-Holstein state parliament has unanimously voted for a digital pact between the federal and state governments for the universities.

At the beginning of the new legislative period, the state government should work to ensure that a corresponding pact is initiated, the MPs decided on Friday.

The federal government should assume 90 percent of the costs, the federal states the rest. The government factions of the CDU, Greens and FDP had submitted the application.

The Green MP Lasse Petersdotter called digitization a water heater for technological and social changes.

Universities need money to stay relevant.

For the CDU, the MP Anette Röttger warned that digital teaching is more than just distributing laptops.

It also needs further training.
