Rostock (dpa / mv) - A now 40-year-old Rostock has to serve a life sentence for the double murder of his parents.

The Federal Court of Justice (BGH) has rejected the defendant's appeal against the judgment of the Rostock regional court in September 2020, as a regional court spokeswoman announced on Friday.

In addition to the life imprisonment, the judges had determined the particular gravity of the guilt.

Early release from prison after 15 years is legally possible, but practically impossible (Az 13 Ks 56/20).

The German had confessed to having killed or stabbed his parents to death the night before New Year's Eve 2019 in their apartment where he lived with them.

Accordingly, he first hit his 62-year-old father with a machinist's hammer and then stabbed him 21 stitches with a hunting knife.

He then killed the 61-year-old mother with 41 stings.

As a motive, the accused had given years of humiliation by his parents in his confession.
