Five minors, suspected of having sexually abused two teenage girls aged 14 and 15 in Nîmes (Gard), were indicted for "gang rape" and placed in pre-trial detention.

The defendants, aged 16 and 17, are accused of having abused two young victims in cellars and an apartment in a popular district of Nîmes, between Friday and Sunday, reported the public prosecutor of Nîmes, Eric Maurel, at a press conference.

Some of them, suspected of having posted videos of sexual abuse on social networks, were also indicted for “recording and distributing child pornography images”.

Several other police custody for pimping

The two victims were residing in a hostel.

On Sunday evening, the oldest returned home alone, while her 14-year-old friend could not be found.

“There was great worry about her for several days.

She was found on Wednesday in a hotel room in Nîmes, ”the prosecutor said.

The victim was "watched" by a teenage girl of the same age, originally from Marseille, detailed the magistrate, who opened a second investigation for "aggravated pimping, in meetings and on minors".

She is currently in custody at the Departmental Security of Nîmes, like several other men, young adults, also from Marseille and suspected of procuring.
