Bergheim (dpa / lnw) - The first municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia want to apply for an exception to the Corona emergency brake and allow people with a negative quick test, for example, to access shops.

The Rhein-Erft district announced on Friday that the necessary coordination process with the NRW Ministry of Health would be initiated immediately.

Wuppertal also stated that it wanted to maintain existing easing with a so-called rapid test regulation.

There is a nationwide range of corona tests.

The city announced that it was responsible for leaving shops and museums open in Wuppertal.

The Corona Protection Ordinance, which will apply from Monday, provides that in municipalities with a weekly incidence of over 100, shops, museums and sports facilities, among other things, have to close.

However, districts and urban districts can, in agreement with the ministry, decide that the facilities may remain open to people with a negative test.

A sufficient number of free citizen tests is required.

"I see this as a given in the Rhein-Erft district," said District Administrator Frank Rock.
