Egypt .. Two trains collided in Sohag, and reports of casualties

A source in the Egyptian Ambulance Authority said that a train collided with another from the back, in the district of Tahta Center in Sohag Governorate, southern Egypt.

The source added in statements to "The Seventh Day" that the collision resulted in 3 vehicles derailing the tracks, and the presence of a number of victims.

The state-run Akhbar Al-Youm website stated that the director of Sohag's security, Major General Hassan Mahmoud, received a notification of the accident from the Tahta police station, due to a severe collision between two trains in the suburb of Al-Sawamiya village, west of the center's district, and the presence of dead people.

The website stated that the security services moved to the site of the incident and 16 ambulances were paid.

Pictures circulated by the Egyptian media showed train cars that capsized at a water canal.
