Berlin (dpa) - After the evacuation of the Kiez pub "Meuterei" in Kreuzberg, which was part of the left scene, numerous people protested in Berlin-Mitte on Thursday evening.

According to the police, around 900 people took part in a demonstration, the number of participants estimated at 1,500 to 2,000.

According to the police, the demonstration was closely accompanied by emergency services.

Occasionally stones were thrown and pyrotechnics burned down, it said.

The police intervened consistently.

According to the Berliner Morgenpost, the demonstration was ended shortly after 9 p.m. by the organizer.

Several arrests were made during the demonstration.

When asked, the police were initially unable to provide any information about the exact number of arrests.

The police had cleared the pub that morning.

Around 1,100 police officers were responsible for cordoning off and accompanying the first demonstrations.

The "mutiny" was one of the symbols for the displacement of alternative places.
