March 26, 2021 Two trains collided in Sohag Governorate, Egypt.

Egyptian media report three passenger carriages derailed in Tahta, 365 km south of Cairo.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Health, the provisional toll is 32 victims and 66 injured.

There are 49 ambulances on site.



The Egyptian Minister of Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, who will go to the site of the train accident, has asked for the arrest of the two drivers and the formation of a technical committee to ascertain the causes of the collision between trains. 



The governorate hospitals have ordered a state of alert.
