Chemnitz (AP) - The Niners Chemnitz narrowly missed their fifth home win in a row in the basketball league.
Coach Rodrigo Pastore's team lost against EWE Baskets Oldenburg on Friday with 92:98 (39:44, 82:82) after extra time.
The best Niners thrower was George King with 23 points.
Two days after the home win over Braunschweig, Chemnitz wanted to take the momentum into the game against the fourth place in the table.
After a balanced initial phase, the Pastore team fell behind at 16:23 at the end of the first quarter.
Because the Niners lost too many balls and missed throws, the deficit increased to 15 points at the beginning of the second part of the game.
With the substitution of center Filip Stanic, who celebrated his comeback after a long injury break, the game of the Saxons got better.
