Japanese actor Rimi Ishihara participated in the lighting of the torch. The torchbearer started from the football facility at the symbolic location of the convention's concept of "Rebuilding the Olympics" and the base for the suppression of the Fukushima nuclear accident.

In the next 121 days, approximately 10,000 runners are expected to relay all over Japan.

  According to reports, at 9 am local time on the 25th, the torch relay departure ceremony was held.

The attendees included 5 official ambassadors including the chairman of the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee Hashimoto Seiko, Olympic Minister Marukawa Suyo, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike, and five official ambassadors including actor Rimi Ishihara and former Paralympic shooter Taguchi Aki.

Due to the epidemic situation, general audiences are not allowed to enter the departure ceremony.

  According to reports, the members of the Japanese women's national team who won the Women's World Cup in 2011 collectively served as the first torchbearer.

The torch will be passed in Fukushima Prefecture until the 27th, and then it will tour the Japanese archipelago in a clockwise direction.

After about 10,000 torchbearers passed, the torch will be lit on the torch stage at the National Arena at the opening ceremony on July 23.
