Previously, the sum was SEK 2,000 for assistant nurses, but after pressure from Kommunal, Region Västerbotten has given in and provides the same compensation to both assistant nurses and nurses who have been relocated.

Something that Matilda Olofsson, chairman of Kommunal Region Västerbotten, sees as a great victory.

- The members have really spoken out and the employers have listened.

It should not matter what salary you basically have, if you have been reassigned, that adjustment is the same for both assistant nurses and nurses.

- We have pursued this issue together and now it has borne fruit.

Exactly how many people can take part in this I do not know right now as we have not received the latest figures from the region, but you will receive compensation retroactively from in February.

Still not satisfied

The reactions to the decision have aroused great joy among the assistant nurses concerned.

But Matilda Olofsson emphasizes that the union still has a lot left to fight for.

- There are a lot of people who have heard of it and are satisfied, so now we are on the track again.

But we are still not satisfied with the fact that staff in co-operative care only receive three vacation days as compensation.

We also want more occupational groups to receive the compensation.

The janitors and test staff are two examples of staff who work close to covidnär who we think should be able to take part of the compensation.

- We are a team.

The entire care chain contributes to the operation working and we are very happy with the decision to increase from SEK 2,000 to SEK 4,000, but many are still frustrated.

If you work side by side, you want the same compensation, says Matilda Olofsson.
