When the sum is paid, the money has disappeared, says Katarina Hagström, investigator at the fraud center at the police region Bergslagen.
In total, the amount involved is large, but the police have difficulty investigating individual cases that come in because the money disappears abroad.
- When the money goes abroad in that way, the prosecutor can request legal assistance from abroad.
The police's advice is that if you receive an email from Blocket with requests for payments to always verify.
- Contact Blocket and check that it is really they who have sent the email, says Katarina Hagström.
