Four days after firing two missiles into the Yellow Sea, North Korea turned towards the Sea of Japan on Thursday, March 25.

Between 7 a.m. and 7:25 a.m. (Seoul time), two missiles set off from the east coast of North Korea to travel 450 km before falling, outside the exclusive economic zone of Japan.

The country reacted quickly through the voice of the Prime Minister, Yoshihide Suga, who said "

that these ballistic missiles were a clear threat to the security of the region

 ".

Seoul, for its part, convened a Security Council and expressed its "

deep concern

" with regard to the North Korean test.

Message to Washington?

The build-up may also be intended to send a message to Washington, which is due to reveal details of its policy regarding the Korean Peninsula next week.

This Wednesday, March 24, Joe Biden had minimized the previous missile fire, judging that they did not represent a major change.

A speech that could evolve this Thursday when the American president must give his first press conference since his arrival at the White House.
