Düsseldorf (AP) - Marcel Halstenberg left the German national soccer team prematurely.
According to dpa information, the defender of RB Leipzig was classified as a first-degree contact person in a corona case.
First the "Bild" newspaper reported about it.
The German Football Association (DFB) had previously confirmed that there had been a positive corona test.
The association did not give a name.
The World Cup qualifier against Iceland should take place on Thursday evening in Duisburg as planned.
According to the DFB, one of the 25 players in the squad is affected.
The person concerned currently shows no symptoms.
The DFB is in contact with the responsible health authorities.
The preparation for the game should continue as planned, the association said.
