About fifty fruit trees will be planted on the quays near the reflecting pool in Bordeaux, from this Friday.

It was a request formulated by Bordeaux residents during the appeal launched by the city, as part of the participatory budget, set up by the previous majority.

A budget of 100,000 euros has been allocated to this project, managed by the green spaces department.

As a reminder, 13,000 Bordeaux residents participated and 41 projects were ultimately selected for a total budget of 2.5 million euros.

Apples, pears, blueberries ...

These plantings were designed to respect the landscaping of the Jardin des Lumières designed by Michel Corajoud in 2009 "for garden docks".

Apple trees, pear trees but also berry bushes (blueberries, blackcurrants, currants) will be installed there.

It will be necessary to wait a few months, before devoting itself to a picking on the docks.

Plantings have already taken place in the public garden but also in La Béchade, in the Estienne d'Orves square, in the Bordelais park, in the Régnier square, on that of Georges Mandel.
