Halle / Westphalia (dpa) - The fashion company Gerry Weber gets a new boss.

Angelika Schindler-Obenhaus, who is currently responsible for day-to-day business as Chief Operating Officer (COO), will be appointed as CEO for three years at the Annual General Meeting on June 10, Gerry Weber announced on Thursday.

The 58-year-old succeeds Alexander Gedat, who temporarily took over the function in February 2020.

According to the information, the manager wants to return to the supervisory board and is ready to take over the chairmanship there.

Gerry Weber slipped into bankruptcy in 2019 and was back in the black after an austerity program with branch closings.

The company is planning its annual press conference for Tuesday next week.

Schindler-Obenhaus has been in the fashion industry for almost 40 years and started her career at the department store group Horten.

As COO of Gerry Weber, she is responsible for design, production, procurement and marketing.
