In the end, there was an operating minus of 454 million euros, after plus 510 million euros in 2019. Sales also fell from 11.5 billion to 9.4 billion euros due to lower demand during the pandemic, while deliveries fell by almost a fifth 372,000 cars.

The main plant of the commercial vehicle division in Hanover will gradually be converted for the construction of e-vehicles over the next few years, starting with the ID.Buzz electric VW bus from 2022.

A central project at the site will later be a luxury-class model with the working title D-SUV, which is being developed under the direction of Audi.
