It was only a few weeks ago that a proposal was made for a new timetable for the introduction of the already delayed journal system Millennium.

A new decision on a first transfer of test data was to be made on Friday, March 26, and thereafter the regional board was expected to make another decision on the final approval of commissioning the entire system on April 29.

But despite a legal investigation, the project is still dragged down by legal ambiguities.

- There are still things that we do not really think we have investigated.

So we wait until we have all the paperwork on the table so that everyone can feel safe, says Annette Linander (C), regional councilor with special responsibility for digitization in Region Skåne.

No consultation with IMY yet

Already in December, the Social Democrats demanded that the Privacy Protection Agency (IMY) be consulted.

On Wednesday, the Social Democrats again flagged for Annette Linander (C) that S would vote no to a test migration if the promised opinion from IMY was not included.

- We have not had full consultation with IMY, confirms Annette Linander (C) for SVT Nyheter Skåne on Thursday.

According to Malin Blixt, head of unit at the Privacy Protection Authority, Region Skåne has not yet requested a consultation with IMY regarding the handling of patient data in the region's new US medical record system.

- Individual employees have heard from us but the region as such has not come to us and requested a prior consultation, says Malin Blixt to SVT Nyheter Skåne.

Delayed several months

An advance consultation with IMY usually takes on average about three to four months.

Thursday's announcement means that the planned decision to transfer the Scanians' patient data may be delayed until the end of the summer.

- This is so important that it will be right, so then it must take that time, says Annette Linander.

In November last year, Pia Lundbom, director of health and medical care, decided on a first transfer of Skåne's patient data.

A decision she later took back after SVT reported on legal ambiguities about the patient data.
