From Saturday, nurseries and kindergartens will have to close, as will hairdressers and DIY stores, and the activities of sports facilities will be reduced.

If there are no restrictions on movement or curfew, the number of people allowed in department stores and churches will be restricted.

Decisions necessary for the government faced with record numbers.

Poland recorded nearly 35,000 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday, a rate never seen before.

75% of Covid beds are occupied as are 75% of respirators.

This is the most difficult moment of the pandemic,

" said the Polish prime minister, adding that the country was one step away from being able to treat people properly.

These new restrictions come a few days before Easter.

The head of government asked the Poles to celebrate this holiday in the smallest possible family circle.

The Minister of Health spoke, for his part, with the episcopate in this Catholic country before making a joint declaration calling on priests to respect the limits of the number of faithful in churches.
