Egestorf (AP) - A motorcyclist was killed in an overtaking maneuver on a street in the Harburg district.
The 49-year-old wanted to pass several cars on the L 401 coming from Nienstedt near Egestorf on Thursday evening, the police said.
When he had already accelerated and overtook the first one, a small car in front of him pulled out of the column to overtake.
The motorcyclist was thrown into the street by the collision and died on the spot despite attempts to resuscitate.
The 44-year-old driver was uninjured.
