An unknown person seizes a Mauritanian plane and threatens to blow it up at Nouakchott airport

Today, Thursday, an unknown person seized a Mauritanian Airlines plane that was parked on the tarmac after storming it and threatening to blow it up.

A navigation source at Nouakchott International Airport said that the person who stormed the plane, which was empty of passengers, threatened to blow it up if the security authorities tried to storm it.

The source added, "Until now, we are ignorant of this person's demands and we have not determined his identity." It is likely that he is a foreigner who does not speak Arabic.

The source added that the aircraft was an "Ambriar" belonging to the Mauritanian Aviation Company.

Later, the Mauritanian News Agency reported that the man had been controlled, indicating that he claimed to be an American.

The agency said on its website today that the piracy process was successfully completed and without losses, pointing out that the aforementioned person claims he has a problem with Mauritania.
