Munich (dpa / lby) - Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters) wants to take steps to open up the catering industry as soon as possible in the Corona crisis.

"I think we had the technical prerequisites - if we were to accept nationwide that you go in with a negative test - it should be possible now," said Aiwanger on Thursday in the state parliament.

The minister spoke of "alleged risks" that should now be eliminated, for example through negative tests, through FFP-2 masks and ventilation devices.

"To put these reasons, which were perhaps correct a year ago, aside and to get the economy going again without increasing the risk of infection," said Aiwanger.

Studies have shown that air purification devices can make a big impact.

He would like the next Prime Minister's Conference to include the technical possibilities in its decisions.

Aiwanger stated that he had already requested opening steps at Easter.

"I think we could have risked it with a negative corona test," said the Minister of Economic Affairs, despite the sharp rise in the number of new corona infections.
