Berlin (dpa / bb) - The alleged murderer of a 15-year-old schoolgirl in Berlin is fully guilty according to the expert opinion.

There were no indications of restricted control, said a psychiatrist on Thursday in front of the regional court.

After a two-month process, the reviewer thus came to a different conclusion than in her preliminary written report.

Forensic doctor Michael Tsokos from the Berlin Charité had previously stated that the 15-year-old had been strangled.

He could rule out an epileptic seizure as the cause of death.

The 42-year-old defendant has to answer for murder.

He is said to have killed the student on the night of August 5, 2020 after an attempted rape for fear of discovery.

The 15-year-old had come from a meeting with friends and happened to meet the man she did not know at an S-Bahn station.

She initially accompanied him voluntarily.

The German defendant broke his silence a week ago and rejected an intention to kill.

During voluntary sex on the Rummelsburger Bucht, he had "easily choked" the 15-year-old.

Suddenly she stopped moving.

His lawyers had stated that the cause of death was possibly an epileptic seizure suffered by the drunk schoolgirl.

Forensic doctor Tsokos has now ruled this out.

The accused has already appeared under criminal law.

In 2001 he was acquitted of a rape trial as incapable of guilt due to illness, but was placed in a psychiatric hospital.

In 2014, he was classified as no longer dangerous in an expert report and released.

The current psychiatric report also stated that the defendant had an organic brain disorder.

However, this was not decisive for the act.

The 42-year-old recently lived in a partnership for several years.

"According to the woman, there never was an impulse breakthrough," said the psychiatrist.

Because the witness only gave information about her partner at the time during the trial, she has now come to a different conclusion than before the hearing, the expert said.

In the 13-year-old detention of the accused in the penal system, "an enormous amount of attempts have been made," the psychiatrist continued.

But the 42-year-old withdrew from everything.

He has the ability to manipulate and deceive.

The process will continue on March 30th - presumably with the pleadings.
