This is stated in the message of the Canadian Foreign Ministry, published on the website of the Canadian government.

The Canadian sanctions list includes FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov, FSIN Director Alexander Kalashnikov, Rosgvardia director Viktor Zolotov, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov and the first deputy head of the Russian Presidential Administration Sergei Kiriyenko.

Canada also imposed sanctions against Deputy Defense Ministers of Russia Alexei Krivoruchko and Pavel Popov, head of the Russian president's internal policy department, Andrei Yarin, and presidential envoy to the Siberian Federal District, Sergei Menyailo.

On March 2, the European Union and the United States introduced new sanctions against Russia due to the situation with Alexei Navalny.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that the main goal of the EU sanctions against Russia is not to deteriorate relations, but to the desire of European states to assert themselves.

He also said that Moscow would react to Washington's announcement of new anti-Russian sanctions.
