Ingolstadt (dpa / bb) - The Eisbären Berlin have received a damper again after five wins in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

On Wednesday evening, the capital city lost at ERC Ingolstadt 3: 4 (0: 0, 1: 3, 2: 1).

Parker Tuomie, Lukas Reichel and Ryan McKiernan scored for the leaders of the DEL North Group, but the hosts used their scoring opportunities more consistently.

In front of empty stands in the Ingolstadt arena, both teams were concentrated on the defensive for a long time and fought tough duels.

Clear chances remained seldom until after half an hour the Berliners paid the first momentous inattention: The former polar bear professional Louis-Marc Aubry scored completely uncontested when the home side played in the majority.

Wojciech Stachowiak after a counterattack and Mirko Höfflin in the power play extended the hosts' lead before Tuomie shortened for the polar bears shortly before the second break.

In the final section, the capital city increased the pressure and were not deterred when Tim Wohlgemuth scored the fourth goal for the second in the southern group.

But because the Ingolstadt goalie Michael Garteig was strong, the guests only got two overpaid goals from Reichel and McKiernan.
