Hydrogen is needed to produce fossil-free iron fungus, and the plant that will produce it in Gällivare is said to qualify as the world's largest.

But for hydrogen production, electricity is needed.

Hybrits demo plant in Gällivare will need 15 terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity per year.

That is as much as the entire Lule River produces.

- We need processes and ways of working that are adapted to the major change we are in the middle of, says Anna Borg.

Capacity ordered but takes time to build network

Hybrit as a project has submitted a request to Svenska Kraftnät for an additional 600 megawatts.

But the question is, will Svenska Kraftnät have time to build lines in five years?

They themselves state in various contexts that it takes about 10-12 years to build a network.

How the hydrogen gas produced there will be stored is not yet clear according to Vattenfall's CEO and CEO Anna Borg.
