Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The North Rhine-Westphalian SPD parliamentary group and party leader Thomas Kutschaty has massively criticized the Easter and lockdown resolutions by the federal and state governments.

"Here the pandemic is managed rather than defeated," said Kutschaty on Wednesday in the Düsseldorf state parliament.

The SPD parliamentary group has always supported the decisions from Berlin so far.

But this time it's hard for him, said Kuchaty.

The measures adopted, for example for the extended Easter rest period, “raise more questions than solutions”.

In view of the further increase in the number of corona infections, the federal and state governments are sending Germany into the sharpest lockdown since the pandemic began a year ago.

From April 1st to 5th inclusive, i.e. from Maundy Thursday to Easter Monday, public, economic and private life is to be largely shut down.

According to this, the food trade in the narrower sense should only remain open on Holy Saturday.
