Munich (dpa) - After 14 consecutive weeks of increases, the ADAC reports falling prices for premium gasoline for the first time since November.

The E10 variety was cheaper by 2.4 cents to 1.445 euros per liter, as the traffic club announced.

The price is the nationwide daily average on Tuesday.

Diesel fell by 1.7 cents to 1.308 euros.

The fuel had already become cheaper last week.

Both prices are still well above the lows at the beginning of November 2020. At that time, diesel was around 28 cents cheaper than now, Super E10 around 27 cents.

The current decline could soon be history again: on Wednesday, oil prices rose again after falling to their lowest level since early February on Tuesday.

The reason for this was a freighter that ran aground in the Suez Canal, blocking the route that is important for energy transport from the Middle East to Europe and the USA.
