Oldenburg (dpa / lni) - A gang is said to have stolen grain worth 1.7 million euros from a feed company in Essen in the Oldenburg district.

Seven defendants between the ages of 26 and 73 will therefore have to stand trial in Oldenburg as of today (9 a.m.).

The public prosecutor's office accuses them of serious gang theft (4 KLs 103/20).

Four defendants worked in the affected branch in Essen, which belongs to a company in Garrel.

If they were on late or night shifts, they are said to have left one or two foreign trucks on the company premises and loaded them.

Three drivers removed the stolen grain and resold it.

These three defendants are on remand.

510 offenses are charged between January 2018 and August 2020. The feed company noticed the shortage during an inventory.

The regional court meets in the Weser-Ems-Hallen in order to be able to maintain the protective distances due to Corona despite the many participants.
