In the early morning of March 23, local time, a fire broke out in a nursing home on the outskirts of New York City, USA, killing one person and missing one firefighter.

The fire broke out in the "Evergreen Court Home for Adults" in Spring Valley, a suburb of New York City. Rockland County Fire Coordinator Chris Kyle said that firefighters from About 20 to 25 people were rescued from the fire scene.

Kyle claimed that a firefighter lost his way while trying to rescue a person on the third floor of a burning building and issued a distress signal during the fire.
