Bad Frankenhausen (dpa / th) - At least in the city center, shops in Bad Frankenhausen in the Thuringian Kyffhäuserkreis should be allowed to open to customers and visitors soon, according to the will of the spa town.

"If large cities have very good opening concepts, then it should be even easier in our municipality to be able to open the city center with far fewer visitors than in large cities," said Mayor Matthias Strejc.

A corresponding concept for opening up in the pandemic should be submitted in the coming weeks, the city administration announced on Wednesday.

The Thuringian health resorts in particular suffered from the pandemic and lockdown.

"State and federal politics must show an opening perspective for all Thuringian health resorts and for all of us," said Strejc.

You cannot continue planning in the long term without an opening perspective.

“We're not just running out of air financially, but also mentally.

If the pile of broken pieces is not to grow to infinity after the pandemic, action must be taken now and it cannot and must not go any further, ”warned Strejc.

In Thuringia, the state capital Erfurt and Weimar have so far also aimed at opening up with a model concept.

However, the prerequisite for opening is the approval of the Thuringian Ministry of Health for the planned concept.

For the Kyffhäuserkreis, the Robert Koch Institute recorded around 141.5 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days on Wednesday.

For the whole of Thuringia, the incidence was around 210.5.
