  On March 24, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center, and it was confirmed by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center that an African swine fever epidemic occurred in a pig farm in Yining City, Yili Prefecture.

At the time of the outbreak, the farm had 466 live pigs, 293 were sick and 280 died.

  The news pointed out that after the outbreak, the local government immediately initiated emergency response in accordance with the requirements of the emergency implementation plan of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. The sick and dead pigs are treated in a harmless manner.

It is forbidden for all live pigs and their products to be transferred out of the blockade, and for pigs to be transported into the blockade.

Carry out large-scale investigation and disinfection of pig farms in the jurisdiction.
