The Daily Guardian and Bloomberg News reported on the 23rd (local time) that a supersized container ship stopped at the Suez Canal in Egypt, disrupting the operation of numerous ships crossing the aqueduct.

One of the most important waterways in the world connecting the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea, the Suez Canal is 120 miles (about 190 km) long.

It plays a key role in global trade by connecting Asia and Europe directly without bypassing the African continent.

Reportedly, a Taiwan-owned, Panamanian-shipped container ship named'Evergreen' stopped on the Suez Canal today.

The'Evergreen', a 59m wide and 400m long, 220,000 ton super-large container ship departed from China and was heading for Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

However, it stopped blocking the Suez Canal, and the waterway was blocked, causing many ships to hinder their operation.

As dozens of large container ships cross the waterway in one day, there are concerns that if'Evergreen' fails to move again, global trade may be disrupted.

The Guardian said the Egyptian authorities sent tugboats and excavators to try to get the ship back on board, but it was unsuccessful.
