Ahmad Alissa, a 21-year-old man, has been charged with the massacre that took place Monday in a supermarket in the city of Boulder, Colorado in the United States.

During this tragedy, 10 people including a policeman lost their lives.

The suspect's motive is not yet known, authorities said.

Identified as Ahmad Alissa, he was injured in the leg and hospitalized.

He is in "stable condition" and must be transferred to prison soon, said Maris Herold, the Boulder police chief.

His motive is not yet known, according to the authorities.

The killed policeman was the father of seven children 

All the victims have been identified and were between 20 and 65 years old, according to the same source.

The suspected shooter is accused of killing 10 people Monday afternoon in or around the King Soopers store in Boulder, a city of some 110,000 people located 50 km northwest of Denver, the capital of Colorado.

Live footage showed a man, wearing only athletic shorts, being taken by police out of the store.

His hands cuffed behind his back, he appeared to be injured in the leg, with traces of blood.

According to US media, the man was equipped with an AR-15 type assault rifle, a weapon often used in killings.

The massacre came less than a week after a gunman, also 21, shot dead eight people in Asian massage parlors in Atlanta, Georgia.
