On the night of March 22, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang summoned the head of the EU delegation to China, Yu Bai, to represent the Chinese government on the unilateral decision on the human rights issue in Xinjiang under the excuse of the EU Foreign Ministers’ meeting a few hours ago, and lodged a solemn protest to the EU. He strongly condemned and informed China of relevant countermeasures.

Qin Gang pointed out that the EU's sanctions against China based on Xinjiang-related lies and false information are inconsistent with reality, lawless and unreasonable.

The European side is not qualified to claim to be a human rights teacher.

China urges the EU to recognize the seriousness of the error, correct it, and stop confrontation, so as not to cause more damage to China-EU relations.

China's will and determination to safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests is unwavering.
