However, Park Geun-hye did not pay the fine and payment within the time limit. South Korean prosecutors have seized her house and will be auctioned.

  A representative of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office stated that Park Geun-hye did not pay 21.5 billion won in fines and demand payments within the time limit, and the authorities “seized Park Geun-hye’s house” as a result.

He also said that the prosecutors have asked the official receiver to open the auction.

  According to media reports, this two-story house is located in a luxury residential district in Seoul. When the court froze Park Geun-hye's assets in 2018, the house was valued at 2.8 billion won.

  Park Geun-hye was impeached in March 2017 and lost judicial immunity due to the scandal involving “trustees in politics”. He was detained in a detention center on the 31st of the same month.

On January 14, 2021, the South Korean Supreme Court made a final judgment on Park Geun-hye’s “confidential involvement in government” and bribery cases, sentenced Park Geun-hye to 20 years in prison, fined 18 billion won, and recovered 3.5 billion won.

According to South Korean "Criminal Law", fines must be paid within 30 days from the day the sentence is determined.

  In addition, Park Geun-hye was sentenced to 2 years for violating the public office election law. Currently, Park Geun-hye has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.
