Nettersheim (dpa / lnw) - There is a new wolf certificate from the Eifel.

A dead sheep discovered in a pasture near Nettersheim in the Euskirchen district was demonstrably killed by a wolf, said the Düsseldorf Ministry for the Environment, Agriculture, Nature and Consumer Protection on Tuesday.

The dead sheep was discovered on February 27th.

After a DNA analysis, a wolf is found to be the culprit.

Nettersheim is on the edge of the already existing wolf area Eifel-Hohes Venn.

However, this wolf, which was found there in 2019, is now in the Belgian part of the region.

In NRW there are now four wolf areas that are far apart.
