Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The Corona variants are displacing the original virus in Baden-Württemberg more and more rapidly.
In the previous calendar week, their share was 82 percent, in the week before 68 percent.
As the State Health Office announced on Tuesday in Stuttgart, this corresponds to an increase of 14 points compared to the previous week.
These values come from the ALM, the association of accredited laboratories in medicine.
Since December 2020, 20 451 cases with virus variants of particular importance have been reported to the State Health Office.
Since the turn of the year, 1294 outbreaks with 5762 variants have been registered at the office.
The number of reported cases of corona variants was highest in the middle age groups and relatively low among old and young people.
According to the State Health Office (as of 4:00 p.m.), newly reported corona cases were added within 24 hours in 1985.
This has increased the total number since the outbreak of the pandemic to 346,765. The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was 101.9.
In addition, another 18 deaths were reported in connection with Covid-19.
In total there are now 8,568 deceased.
This is compared to an estimated 315,721 recovered.
