Seeing a single man carrying two large identical suitcases in tramway 17 between Annemasse (Haute-Savoie) and Geneva was enough to push the border police to carry out a check.

On March 14, in this area on the border between France and Switzerland, the PAF thus carried out an improbable seizure, as revealed by

Le Dauphiné Libéré

.

The man checked just before the border presented a valid Spanish residence permit.

But when opening his suitcases, the Spanish national admitted to transporting no less than 29 kg of herbal cannabis to Switzerland.

Arrested, the man was taken into custody in Annemasse, and the investigation was entrusted to the Annecy judicial police.

The individual was identified by the police as "a mule" carrying drugs for remuneration.

Presented for immediate appearance in the court of Thonon, he was sentenced to eighteen months in prison and he is now in the remand center of Aiton (Savoie).
