Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Baden-Württemberg's Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann has defended the tightening of the corona requirements over Easter as decided by the federal and state governments.

"We are in one of the most difficult phases of the pandemic," said the Green politician on Tuesday in Stuttgart.

"There is currently no scope for further opening steps."

It is alarming that younger people are also badly affected by the corona mutants.

The planned emergency brake in regions where the number of infections is over 100 per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days must be implemented consistently.

Kretschmann went on to say that it still remains to be clarified whether districts can continue to independently decide on loosening and closings depending on the incidence or whether this should be regulated nationwide again.

The exact conditions of the five-day Easter lockdown are also still unclear, such as which shops must remain closed on Maundy Thursday and Holy Saturday.

"I would imagine that this would be a day of rest corresponding to the public holiday."

Kretschmann asked for "forbearance" that the exact implementation of the resolutions in the country still had to be checked.

In the special session of the state parliament this Wednesday, he wanted to make clear statements.

The Greens politician also wants to put an exit restriction into force again, but here too it is still unclear whether only in certain affected circles or nationwide.

Stricter measures will also be needed in schools and daycare centers in hotspot regions.

"We are aiming for the emergency brake there too."

Most recently, there was talk of closing schools and daycare centers at an incidence of 200.

The seven-day incidence in Baden-Württemberg is 103.0 across the country and is thus above the important threshold of 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.

From this value, the so-called emergency brake applies nationwide in the districts.

This means, for example, that if the incidence is over 100, there must be no further openings or loosening must be withdrawn.

In addition, the possibility of private get-togethers is again restricted to one's own household and one other person.

Children up to 14 years are not counted.
