March 23, 2021 A rocket launched from Gaza landed near Beersheba in southern Israel, the Times of Israel reported, citing the Israeli army.

The attack came shortly after Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu was campaigning in the city for the country's current parliamentary elections, where voting for the renewal of the Knesset is taking place.

Israeli media specify that the attack would have taken place while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was visiting the city.

Sources from Likud, Netanyahu's party, however, told 'Haaretz' that the head of the government had left Beersheba before the attack.

The rocket, according to the Times of Israel, fell in an uninhabited area and caused no damage.

The alarm sirens that usually sound in the event of an attack did not go off.

There would have been no casualties in the missile attack.

The episode is similar to that of September 2019 when a rocket was launched from the Strip as Netanyahu was engaged in a rally in Ashkelon and left the stage.
