“The investigation has been completed in a separate criminal case against 12 members of the terrorist community operating in the Republic of Ingushetia, the organizer and leader of which is Khasan Polonkoev,” said Svetlana Petrenko, an official representative of the Investigative Committee.

Charges are brought against them depending on the role of each.

According to the findings of the investigation, the terrorist community was created “to please the personal interests of its organizers,” who were going to undermine the political, economic and social situation in Ingushetia.

By attempting to assassinate Eldzharkiev, the defendants tried to "instill fear among the population" and "demonstrate an imaginary superiority over the authorities," the Investigative Committee said in a statement.

At the moment, another 13 people have been declared wanted in a criminal case, they stressed there.

Eldzharkiev was killed by unknown persons on November 2, 2019 in the west of Moscow.

The shooting also killed his brother, who worked as a doctor in one of the capital's clinics.

The investigation qualified the attacks as a terrorist attack.
