Berlin (dpa / bb) - A few hundred people protested on Tuesday evening against the planned evacuation of the left-wing neighborhood bar "Meuterei" in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

The demonstration started around 6.45 p.m. near the pub on Reichenberger Strasse in Kreuzberg and moved to Friedrichshain.

The mood of the participants from the left and radical left scene was aggressive, loud chants against capitalism and the police could be heard.

The first firecrackers flew to the start, participants shot down some rockets and lit Bengali fire.

The demonstrators wanted to walk past the occupied house «Rigaer 94» in Friedrichshain that evening.

The «Meuterei» bar is due to be evacuated on Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m.
